Are There Any Dog-Friendly Restaurants in Indian Trail?

Dog-Friendly Restaurants are popping up all over the place and Indian Trail is no exception.  With the influx of businesses to the Sun Valley area, local residents don't even have to leave the area this summer if they want to grab a bite to eat without leaving the dog home.

Mandates Regarding Dog-Friendly Restaurants

We have compiled a short list of dog-friendly restaurants.  These restaurants don't allow dogs inside the restaurant, but they do allow patio access to dogs and their owner.  Keep in mind that the Department of Health and Human Services specifically mandates that dogs are only allowed on outdoor seating areas unless the dog is a service animal.  You should also know that dogs cannot have direct contact with dishes, utensils, and food so putting a dish on the floor for your dog is not an option.  Finally, employees are not allowed to touch the dogs, even though they might be tempted to do so! These mandates are strictly enforced by state and local governments as they are based upon regulations put out by the FDA.

Dog-Friendly Restaurants in the Sun Valley Sector of Indian Trail

Viva Chicken – 6461 Old Monroe Road, Suite A (980) 425-3497

Viva Chicken is known for their Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken, AKA their "Pollo a la Brasa". Trail House – 6751 Old Monroe Road (704) 776 – 4655

The Trail house runs great daily and monthly specials. For example, for the month of June, the lunch special was a classic burger and fries for only six dollars.  They have a varied menu so you are guaranteed to find something you will like. They also offer a Sunday brunch, which features a prime rib carving station, biscuits and gravy, shrimp and grits, an omelet station and more.

Sileos New York Deli – 6455 Old Monroe Road, Suite C (704) 776 – 4340

Sileo's New York Deli brings a little bit of New York right here to Indian Trail.  Independently owned by Steve Sileo, Steve offers breakfast lunch and dinner.  His sandwiches are known locally and beyond.  You must try the French, Dip, the Philly Cheesesteak or the BLT.  Steve has daily and weekly specials, too.  One special you can enjoy there is the burger, fries and a drink special, which is offered at two for twenty.

American Burger 6455 Old Monroe Road, Suite A21 (704) 218 – 2172

American Burger has a burger for every palette.  The double cheeseburger and fried pickles are two popular items on their menu. They're not just known for their burgers though!  Their menu also includes more great options such as chicken sandwiches, wings, salads, ice cream, lugnuts (AKA warm donuts) and milkshakes.  They also offer a very convenient option to order online if you're in a hurry and want to take your order to go or have your food waiting when you arrive.

Hickory Tavern

Hickory Tavern has a great outdoor seating area and I myself have seen many dogs there enjoying the outdoors with their owners.  Check them out here

Panera Bread

These are just six restaurants in the Sun Valley area of Indian Trail that welcome well-behaved dogs on their patio.  We have confirmed this directly with the restaurants, but it's always a good idea to call first to confirm that any restaurant you plan on taking your dog to is, in fact, a dog-friendly restaurant.
